Very disappointed that the pages are xerox copied, making the detail hard to see in the pictures. Would be difficult to learn from this book.
Well, put it this way: would you rather spend $30 to learn technique, or would you rather spend $30 for flashy pictures that leave you nearly as mystified as when you started. So, other than that small objection, this book is my number one recommendation for learning wire wrapping and getting it down right.
Out of all of them, this is the best. It could be improved in some small ways: for example, the initial brief tutorial covers a few steps that may need to be referred back to when going through the projects, at least for those of us who don't retain detail at first pass.
I've bought a lot of wire wrapping books and even a DVD, attempting to get really clear instructions on technique. And no other book comes anywhere CLOSE to the detailed, clear steps that Jim presents for each project.
I'm not fond of looking back to where I came from to gather information and would much prefer to see each project include every detailed step as I go. Then again, once the basic technique is mastered, looking back is not likely to be needed.

I am new to wire wrapping and have purchased several books that have been somewhat helpful but didn't give me that "aha" moment I was looking for. When I received this book I couldn't wait to try his step by step pictorial instructions. My first finished item actually looked like the one pictured in this book. If you are a beginner or want to learn different styles for wirewrapping stones, you will not be dissapointed with this book.
This is the best book on wire wrapping I have found to date. It is full of good teaching techniques,creative inspiration and lots of good humor.
The information and instructions in this book will make you soar, open your mind to new concepts and ideas. It makes you think outside the box and start to design "Art" pieces.
